About the Project

The Family Sign at Home Project supports Deaf children and their families to communicate more effectively at home through enjoyable, interactive, and family-centred sessions.

Your teacher will work with you to develop signing skills, build confidence in communication, and support your family’s learning journey.

Family Agreement

As part of your participation, you will be asked to read and complete the Family Sign at Home Agreement. This agreement outlines the commitments and expectations for families taking part in the programme.

Please ensure you read the agreement carefully before signing.

Safeguarding and Complaints

The British Deaf Association (BDA) is committed to promoting the safety and wellbeing of all children, young people, and adults who participate in our projects. We are also committed to providing a high-quality service and positive experience for all families.

If you have:

  • a safeguarding concern, worry, or disclosure; or
  • a concern about the programme and would like to make a complaint,

please contact on Safeguarding@bda.org.uk

The BDA’s Safeguarding Policy is available on the BDA website. If you have a safeguarding concern about any individual involved in the project, including project coordinators, you may report this directly to Jaz, Head of Community.

All concerns will be taken seriously and managed in accordance with BDA safeguarding procedures.

Complaints will be reviewed in line with the British Deaf Association’s complaints procedure, and we will work with you to address any concerns fairly and promptly.

Compliments and Feedback

We value hearing about positive experiences as well as areas where we can improve.

If you would like to share a compliment, feedback, or tell us about something that has worked well for your family, please email your coordinator.

Your feedback helps us continue to improve our services and celebrate good practice.

Questions or Support

If you have any questions about the project, your sessions, or any of the information provided, please contact your coordinator or email the relevant team above.
